The brief
Make investing feel approachable for beginners, from the first screen to the first investment, and give the engineering team one system to build from across three platforms.
Approach
-
An onboarding that explains itself
A short introduction shows how Toranoko works, with the monthly fee shown up front, so people know what they are signing up for.
-
Identity verification, choreographed
Fund selection and bank linking sit inside identity verification, so finishing it means being ready to invest. Questions that need thought move to the screening wait after submission.
-
Monthly investing
A monthly plan sits beside spare-change rounding and points on one dashboard, so the three ways to invest work together.
-
One system, three platforms
A design system with components, tokens, and documentation keeps iOS, Android, and the web consistent, and a timeline makes scheduled investments easy to follow.
Aruitoku
Aruitoku turns daily steps into investment points in Toranoko. The product is built around one daily loop of walking, seeing progress, earning points, and investing, with rewards kept calm and clear. Aruitoku received the Collaboration Award at the Japan Financial Innovation Award 2024.
